The location is fantastic and parking superb and accessible for students. The cafe that students work at was nice for taking a snack during class breaks. I'm shocked that the cost of education here is so low, given how nice it is and how many staff, police, and professors are employed here.
The registration process for continuing education is ok but could be improved by removing the unnecessary bureaucratic elements whenever possible. The quality of the education depends on the professor. If I were 4-year degree seeking, I'd focus on getting what I needed to transfer and getting out. The career services folks have been very helpful at reviewing my resume.
One more thing -- fix the fabric cutter in the fashion lab! That thing has been broken for months and I was hoping to see it in use.
Good place
GO RIVERBATS! Shout outs to their best student Olivia Walker! c
ACC completely changed my life. My professors care. The GIS administration care. I couldn’t be more thankful for finding my way here. It’s so nice to be a part of an institution that helps break the cycle of poverty and gives first generation Americans a chance.
0 stars if I could. First, they charge a ridiculous amount for living out of district ($2000 every semester NOT including the cost of classes and mind you I live 10 minutes from campus). Secondly, when they run their reports after the summer semester to see who is still eligible for financial aid for the fall semester, they do not give enough time for students to file an appeal if they are not eligible. This school is basically practicing highway robbery with all the fees they charge. I do not recommend this school at all and never will attend again.
Very disappointed in the lack of effort and professionalism from the staff at this campus.
Yet to fulfill the experience of this awesome repurposed space. From the outside alone its a ease on the eye compared to the onslaught of big box stores and busy businesses. This place has just began is journey into making its mark on the world with all that it has to offer with the combines of the community oriented and very involved PBS studios and stages.
Don't go here. The building is cool because it's a repurposed mall, but the education is mediocre. If you're a STEM major, don't even THINK about going here. All math/biology/computer science professors are like 2 stars or under on rate my professor. Also, academic advisors lie to you about what you need to transfer so you spend more money/secure funding for the school. They do not care about students. They WILL advise you wrong. You WILL take classes you don't need and waste your money and time.
The two very good professors I had taught humanities classes and were unfortunately swamped by very impolite/immature students that frequently disrupted.
This is coming from an honor student btw. Very sad that Austin has no strong community college system. I wasted 2 semesters here and got no closer to my transfer or career goals.
